The world’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic has been elected the best athlete of Europe in 2021 in the 64th selection of news agencies.
Djokovic, the winner of three Grand Slam tournaments this year, won with 172 points and got this award for the fourth time in his career, after 2011, 2015 and 2018.
The world’s second best athlete for 2021 is last year’s winner, the player of Bayern from Poland Robert Lewandowski (133 points), and the third is the new world’s Formula 1 champion, the Dutchman Max Ferstappen (125 points).
The selection is traditionally organised by the Polish Press Agency (PAP) and a total of 26 news agencies took part. Serbia was represented by Tanjug news agency, as in the previous years.
