The opening ceremony was held at the Place de la Concorde in the heart of Paris, marking the first time in history that the Games were officially opened outside a stadium.
These Paralympic Games gather more than 4,400 athletes from 184 countries, who will compete in 22 sports, and a total of 549 medals will be awarded.
In the parade of nations, the flag of Serbia was carried by Saška Sokolov and Željko Dimitrijević.
Serbia is represented at the Games by 22 competitors in 8 sports.
