First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that Guyana, as the chair of the United Nations Security Council, decided to have the extraordinary session on Kosovo and Metohija, scheduled for Thursday, 8 February, open to the public.

Dacic, in a guest appearance on RTS morning news, explained that, after a conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana Hugh Todd, he received information that Todd had instructed the head of the Guyana Mission to the UN to schedule a session in an open format by the decision of the chairman, without a vote.
He pointed out that it is very important that President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic speaks at the open session of the UN Security Council and that his speech be visible, that all the reasons and arguments why Serbia requested an urgent session of the UN Security Council on Kosovo and Metohija be heard.
The extraordinary session of the UN Security Council on Kosovo and Metohija will be held at 21:00 CET.
