Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Juraj Blanár today discussed bilateral relations of the two traditionally close and friendly countries, as well as the strengthening of their cooperation.
Vučević emphasised that he greatly appreciates Slovakia’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and the country’s firm position not to recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s abstention during the vote on the Resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly, as well as for the strong and continuous support that Slovakia provides to Serbia at the highest political level in the process of European integration.
Vučević emphasised that there is mutual interest and room for improving economic cooperation, noting that the exchange of goods has increased in recent years.
Slovakia has extensive experience in renewable energy sources, the Prime Minister stated, adding that the exchange of experiences in that area can be significant for Serbia.
Blanár pointed out that the Slovak national minority in Serbia and the Serbian national minority in Slovakia make a special contribution to the relations between the two countries.
He assessed relations between the two countries as very good and substantial and added that Serbia and Slovakia have an intense and continuous political dialogue at all levels.
