At AmCham’s 12th Lap Time Conference, Vučević noted that 75% of AmCham members expect an increase in business in the coming year.
He pointed out that it is extremely significant for Serbia to have recently received an investment-grade credit rating for the first time, despite the challenges it faces, adding that the government has driven down inflation this year, which is now projected to reach around 4% at the end of 2024.
He also highlighted the increased number of foreign direct investments in Serbia, with the highest growth recorded in the field of information technology.
When it comes to information and communication technology services, their share of GDP increased by a factor of 10 in 10 years, according to him. In 2023, Serbia’s total exports of software services to the United States stood at $1.6 billion, with a huge potential for further growth and increased employee numbers.
We are looking to continue developing strategic ties, with the field of energy and the Green Agenda policy being especially important, Vučević said, noting that Serbia remains committed to the Green Agenda and that the two countries’ agreement on strategic cooperation in the field of energy will additionally enhance the bilateral exchange.
AmCham President Stefan Lazarević said that the chamber will remain a stable partner to the government, assessing the cooperation between the two sides as exceptionally successful.
