Prime Minister Miloš Vučević today chaired the session of the Council for the Coordination of Activities and Measures for Gross Domestic Product Growth, which pointed out that Serbia should achieve a 3.8% GDP expansion in 2024.
Participants in the session analysed results in all sectors important for the stability of the domestic economy and sustainable economic growth, with construction, mining, industry and the information and communication technology (ICT) sector singled out as key areas for achieving GDP growth.
To ensure stronger economic growth, it is important for each project and all ministries, local self-governments and public companies to speed up activities so that deadlines can be met, it was noted.
Topics discussed at the session included the Green Agenda and the creation of conditions to prepare businesses in a timely manner for the introduction of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which will apply in its definitive regime from 2026.
It was concluded at the session that continued monitoring and reporting on the status of investment projects and the acceleration of their implementation is needed, given the fact that the fourth quarter of 2024 has begun.
