Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Minister for Family Care and Demography Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski visited Orthodox priest Aleksandar Simić and his family in Jakovo today.
Vučević expressed his satisfaction in meeting this family with six children, who he noted are good students, hardworking, modest, and active in helping their father with parish duties.
The issue of demography and family care is the foundation of the stability and progress of any society, and the Government of the Republic of Serbia will continue its numerous programmes to support families with children and activities to confront a declining population in 2025, the Prime Minister said.
He emphasised that a strong and stable family is the country’s key national interest, with support for families, children and parenthood remaining a strategic priority for the government.
The Leap into the Future plan, aimed at improving living standards for citizens, has a secure foundation – Serbia’s tradition and spirituality – the Prime Minister stated, noting that the country must continue to live, work and develop.
Đurđević Stamenkovski announced that the new year will mark the beginning of even more intensive work by the Ministry for Family Care and Demography.
The ministry will strive to be even more active in 2025, to reach every municipality and every town, to be a ministry at the service of the people, just as the government has defined its path, in the service of families, she emphasised.
