At a ceremony in Madrid, Djokovic received the prestigious Laureus award for the fifth time in his career, which was presented to him by the seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
Candidates for the Laureus World Sports Awards are chosen by the world media, while the winners are determined by 69 members of the Laureus World Sports Academy. The awards have been given every year since 2000.
The Serbian tennis player won the prestigious award for the fifth time, equaling Roger Federer's record, a feat unmatched by any other athlete.
