Minister of European Integration Tanja Miščević said today in Vranje that the 1st Call for Proposals under the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Serbia – North Macedonia 2021-2027 within the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III), which opened on 5 September, runs until 22 October.

At a conference on the first call, Miščević noted that project proposals may be submitted by that deadline, with the European Union to co-finance the projects with €5.4 million.
Cross-border cooperation projects aim to promote good neighbourly relations and European integration, she said, adding that the most important goal is to improve social and economic development on the ground.
Minister of Local Self-Government of North Macedonia Zlatko Perinski noted that the programme offers the possibility of tourism sector cooperation between less developed areas and areas that are more developed.
Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret said at the conference that these initiatives will strengthen regional ties and cooperation efforts.
