At the reception, organised by the Permanent Mission of Serbia to the UN, Begović stated that the government of Serbia decided to build the BIO4 Campus as a response to the challenges that lie ahead in the fields of medicine, agriculture, food production and environmental protection.
According to her, the BIO4 Campus will bring together scientists, the private sector, and the academic community – all talented people connected around biotechnology, biomedicine, bioinformatics and biodiversity.
Speaking about the upcoming presidency of the Republic of Serbia in the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence in 2025, she said that the goal is to become a centre of new technologies, adding that the country will organise the annual summit of this international initiative in early December.
Speaking about the preparations for Expo 2027, Begović said that Belgrade and Serbia will be the centre of the world during the three months of this event and that more than four and a half million visitors are expected. This will be an opportunity to show the world how much Serbia is developing as it keeps up with new technologies, she added.
