Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Annalena Baerbock on the sidelines of the Berlin Process ministerial meeting in Berlin today.
Đurić pointed out that overall relations between Serbia and Germany are highly developed and characterised by excellent political and economic cooperation.
He welcomed the fact that the two countries’ economic cooperation is developing dynamically year in and year out, through the growing exchange of goods and services, the constant inflow of investments from German companies, and German financial support through development aid programs.
EU membership represents a strategic commitment and priority of Serbia's foreign policy, said Đurić and added that Serbia stands for European values and seeks to contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in Europe.
The minister pointed out that instead of dialogue, Priština is reaching for unilateral measures in order to fundamentally change the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and, by violating the human, political and economic rights of Serbs, encourage their mass exodus.
Đurić also spoke with Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Alexander Schallenberg on the sidelines of the Berlin Process ministerial meeting.
He pointed out that Austria is an extremely important economic partner of Serbia.
During the talks, the Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Austria on reciprocal access to the labour market of family members of diplomatic missions and consular missions.
Đurić also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó. During this meeting, exceptionally friendly relations between the two countries were reaffirmed alongside the highest level of bilateral cooperation in modern history.
Đurić expressed his gratitude for Hungary’s strong, continuous support to Serbia in the process of European integration.
On the sidelines of the Berlin Process ministerial meeting, Đurić also met with Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Đurić pointed out that Serbia wants to work on strengthening bilateral cooperation with the United Kingdom and maintaining political dialogue at all levels.
The head of Serbian diplomacy particularly emphasised the interest in increasing the volume of trade and improving cooperation in the fields of economy, education and culture.
He informed his interlocutor in detail about the difficult position of the Serb and other non-Albanian population in Kosovo and Metohija, where their basic human rights are grossly violated, adding that Belgrade is committed to renewing a productive dialogue with Priština, as well as that Serbia's foreign policy activities are focused on preserving the regional peace and stability.
During the talks, the ministers discussed a number of current topics and exchanged opinions on the global geopolitical situation.
