Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said today at the Berlin Process ministerial meeting that the Western Balkan region needs a paradigm shift, urging a transition from focusing on divisions to highlighting shared goals.
Đurić pointed out that the Berlin Process is one of the key platforms for strengthening regional cooperation and development, which directly contributes to the European integration process of the Western Balkans.
The head of Serbian diplomacy emphasised that the current political leaders have the responsibility to turn the region's potential into capacity, and the chance to turn the perspective into reality.
This will best present the Western Balkans as a reliable partner and speed up its path towards the European Union, stated the head of Serbian diplomacy.
According to him, Serbia attaches great importance to the Berlin Process, which creates conditions for closer connection of people and stronger economic integration in the region, and it is especially important that young people from the entire region have the opportunity to study and work in any part of the Western Balkans.
Đurić pointed out that since the start of the Berlin Process, numerous positive steps have been taken in the promotion of regional cooperation, including the establishment of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office and the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the Southeast Europe Transport Community.
Serbia, with its strong economic development, sets an example and shows in practice that it is truly interested in cooperation and closer regional integration through concrete projects and measures, said Đurić.
The head of Serbian diplomacy emphasised that, in addition to focusing on the future, it is also necessary to work decisively on resolving problems inherited from the past.
