Vučević pointed out that the Government of Serbia is committed to supporting women’s entrepreneurship, especially in rural areas, and the survival and development of old crafts.
The grants that we award through the competitions of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Family Care and Demography are practically a tail wind that our female entrepreneurs receive from their state, he emphasised.
The Prime Minister also said that he is proud of the fact that the majority of beneficiaries of grants and entrepreneurs will buy equipment in Serbia.
By this, we not only empowered their work, but also the work of those who produce equipment, said the Prime Minister.
Minister for Family Care and Demography Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski pointed out that this project has been worked on diligently for the past months, and it is dedicated to the category of our population that was neglected and practically left invisible to institutions for decades.
The Minister expressed her belief that women in rural areas can be the key drivers not only of economic activities, but also of all other events in local self-governments that will provide a direct response to the demographic challenges that our country is facing in all regions, including the Zlatibor district.
Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović explained that it was the first time that such a programme and project, which provides 100% of grants, was conceptualised.
She specified that 103 women from the whole country will receive these funds worth RSD 49.7 million, while 175 of them will receive a total of RSD 47 million for old trades.
According to her, in addition to this, the Ministry of Economy, also at the initiative of the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic, is conducting a series of competitions that will ensure the award of grants this year in the amount of RSD 2 billion, so together with credit funds, the allocation will amount to RSD 3.9 billion.
