Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and French Development Agency (AFD) Chief Executive Officer Rémy Rioux today discussed the AFD’s cooperation and projects in Serbia.
The Prime Minister emphasised that overall relations between Serbia and France have reached a high level of political cooperation, as well as mutual respect and friendship, as evidenced by the recent visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia.
Bearing in mind that Serbia has signed a five-year agreement with the AFD on the continuation of cooperation, the Prime Minister assessed that important projects in the areas of green transition, digitalisation and innovation, as well as projects related to support for local governments, are ahead.
Rioux stated that AFD Group aims to support businesspeople and the private sector in the transition process of Serbia’s rapprochement with the European Union, and the Serbian economy in order to make it more competitive and attractive for investment.
Vučević assessed that strengthening the economy and creating a favourable climate for new investments are important priorities of the government and expressed the expectation that in this way Serbia will attract new French investments.
