Outgoing Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić said today, in a conversation with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu, that Serbia appreciates and supports the role that this organisation plays in the international framework.
Đurić expressed gratitude for the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia (OMS) in implementing reforms and strengthening institutions, especially in the context of European integration, which is one of the main foreign policy goals of our country.
The Minister, emphasising that Serbia is firmly committed to respecting the Dayton Agreement, said that our country wants to create a good climate in the region, which is also one of the priorities of our diplomatic activities.
Serbia attaches special importance to the work of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (OMIK), Đurić underlined, emphasising the importance of this mission in preserving the rights of Serbs in the province.
He pointed to the unilateral moves of the Priština authorities, which have greatly endangered the political, economic and all other rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo, as well as the increasingly frequent political arrests of Serbs, assessing that a more intensive reaction and condemnation of such actions by international institutions is needed.
Đurić recalled that to date the Community of Serb Municipalities has not been formed in accordance with the Brussels Agreement, nor have the rights of Serbs that are defined even by the so-called Pristina acts themselves been fulfilled.
