Đurić said that membership in the European Union represents Serbia’s strategic orientation, emphasising that the country is highly committed to its European path, and as a credible partner, seeks to contribute to the peace, stability and prosperity of Europe.
The head of Serbian diplomacy stated that reforms remain a priority, and expressed hope that the Union will recognise and positively evaluate the country’s efforts.
When it comes to the Belgrade-Priština dialogue, he said that Belgrade is fully committed to the process, and that the new European Union Special Representative for the Belgrade-Priština dialogue will have Belgrade’s support.
On the other hand, according to Đurić, it is necessary for Priština to implement its obligations under the agreements reached so far, particularly by forming the Community of Serb Municipalities.
The Minister also stated that Serbia’s key interests include preserving stability in the region, improving regional cooperation and fostering the best possible good-neighbourly relations.
In this regard, he said that Serbia will continue to contribute to the relaxation of relations through constructive engagement, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
