The government said in a statement today that the Kingdom of Eswatini has officially confirmed its participation in Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, bringing the total number of countries that have confirmed their participation in the event to 92.
The specialised international exhibition, with the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, will take place from 15 May to 15 August 2027, with the participation of more than 120 countries, international organisations and companies.
The Serbian capital is expected to host more than 4 million visitors during 93 days of the event.
CEO of Expo 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade Dušan Borovčanin said that Eswatini will bring its indigenous vision of play, music and sport to Belgrade, and that Serbia will be the centre of their culture in 2027, adding that the southern part of Africa has always attracted the world’s attention owing to its rich cultural tradition and nature.
The Kingdom of Eswatini, one of the smallest countries in continental Africa, made its first appearance at world exhibitions at Expo 1993 in Daejeon, and will also be represented at Expo 2025 in Osaka. It became a member of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in 2007.
