State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Affairs Nenad Ivanisevic met yesterday with representatives of the delegation of the US Congress to talk about the current migrant crisis and the challenges Serbia and countries in the region are facing due to an increasing inflow of migrants.

Ivanisevic presented details on the efforts of the government of the Republic of Serbia, which on an organised, humane and professional way is solving the problem of the large waves of migrants.
He pointed out that a unified European stance and a common solution is necessary.
Staff Director in the Committee on Homeland Security House of Representatives Brendan Shields praised the effort that the Republic of Serbia invests to effectively solve the migrant crisis and agreed that it is necessary to find a common solution to ensure the stability of the region and the EU.
The Secretary of State thanked for very successful cooperation so far and financial support and stressed that the Republic of Serbia needs direct budgetary assistance to be able to cope with the large wave of migrants from the Middle East, according to a statement by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Affairs.
