Several decrees adopted governing management in state of emergency

The government of the Republic of Serbia adopted today the latest decisions regarding the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The decision to suspend intercity bus transport was adopted. Also, international and domestic passenger rail transport is suspended, as well as international and domestic passenger water transport.

All carriers that have commenced transport by noon today will be allowed to complete the journey and return the carrier to their headquarters. No further departures will be possible.

A decree was also issued concerning tax measures during the state of emergency. The decree applies to legal and natural persons, farmers and entrepreneurs who will be allowed to defer payment of tax debt, and aims to increase the liquidity of taxpayers during the state of emergency.

The government also adopted a decree on time limits in court proceedings during the state of emergency. The purpose of the regulation is to protect parties in civil and non-contentious proceedings. The time limits for lodging appeals and lawsuits, as well as proposals for initiating proceedings, as well as enforcement and security proceedings, shall be on hold during the period of the emergency starting from 15 March 2020.

It was also decided that drugs from the list of prescription drugs, during the validity period of the decision to declare COVID-19 infectious disease, will be issued to health insurers without paying a fixed participation fee.

Two national contact centres will be established, one for all COVID-19 virus information, while the other for volunteers. All citizens will soon be notified of the contact centre telephone number.
