Prime Minister Ana Brnabic announced today that a Science and Technology Park in Nis will be opened in the next few days, in two weeks at the latest, and added that the state will continue to invest in that sector.
Brnabic, who visited three laboratories and 12 projects in the Science and Technology Park in Belgrade today, pointed out that during the crisis, Serbia showed that it can produce everything on its own and be competitive.
She pointed out that all the potential, creativity, knowledge, innovations and talent were seen during the crisis, stating that chloroquine was produced by "Galenika", and later the first Serbian ventilator was made.
Last year, in cooperation with the European Investment Bank, we invested 420,000 euros in equipment that was used in a way we never thought it would be - to help our health system, primarily health workers, she pointed out.
No investor canceled his arrival in Serbia and there was no change in the date of arrival, Brnabic underlined and expressed the expectation that there will be additional employment, on which moderate optimism for 2020 is based.
She pointed out that she is satisfied with the dynamics with which the state coffers are being filled, adding that the revenues are of course not high as usual, but they are better than projected when the crisis with COVID-19 began.
According to the Prime Minister, our country had a growth of between 5 and 5.2 percent in March, which gave hope that this year could be brought to an end with a minimum economic decline of -1.8 percent or with a slight growth.
Brnabic said that domestic businessmen and foreign investors unanimously welcomed the measures of the Serbian government for economic recovery in the amount of 11 percent of GDP or more than five billion euros.
She added that she will try to liberalise the entry into Serbia as much as possible, emphasising that, in addition to protecting human health, the goal is to achieve full economic recovery and growth of our country as soon as possible.
