First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke today with British Ambassador to Serbia Sian MacLeod.
Dacic extended condolences over a large number of victims of the COVID-19 pandemic in Great Britain and expressed his conviction that that country will soon overcome all consequences of that disease, which has struck the whole world.
The two officials confirmed an interest in the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, and in intensifying political dialogue once the situation gets stabilised.
In this context, Dacic and MacLeod noted that the regular annual exchange of visits at the ministerial level has significantly contributed to the additional improvement of bilateral relations.
Serbia’s international activities in the light of the continuation of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue were discussed, as well as the cooperation of Serbia and Great Britain in the framework of international organisations.
MacLeod on this occasion expressed gratitude once more to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the support and assistance given during the repatriation of British citizens during the pandemic.
She underlined that the Embassy of the United Kingdom set aside additional funds for the assistance to the most endangered groups in Serbia during the pandemic.
