Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia Thomas Schieb about the current political and economic circumstances in the country and the situation related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Pointing to the fact that Germany is among the leading economic and foreign trade partners, Brnabic assessed that this country is one of the most important foreign investors in Serbia.
She emphasised that Serbia is firmly committed to the European path, as well as the continuation of reforms and their implementation, in order to improve the lives of the citizens of our country.
As she explained, the new government faces important tasks and great challenges, first of all, the fight for the health of citizens in the midst of the pandemic, which cannot slow down the completion of reforms in the field of justice, implementation of the Media Strategy and further work in the field of rule of law.
According to her, the new government will at the same time strive to preserve economic stability during the crisis and a larger inflow of foreign investments into the country.
The Ambassador of Germany presented the Prime Minister with congratulations from German Chancellor Angela Merkel for the new mandate and wished her much success in her future work.
Schieb praised Serbia's progress in the field of economy, especially in the situation of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, emphasizing that he was extremely satisfied with the expansion of the business capacity of German companies in Serbia and the positive trend of hiring qualified and educated staff.
When it comes to European integration and the opening of new chapters in the negotiations, he pointed out that Serbia can still count on the support and assistance of Germany, as well as support during the COVID-19 crisis, with full commitment to the development of bilateral relations between our countries.
