In her statement to the Tanjug agency, Brnabic pointed out that she had extremely good meetings with President of Singapore Halimah Yakob, and Acting Prime Minister, in the absence of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister in charge of National Security, Teo Chee Hean.
The Prime Minister said that Serbia has support for joining ASEAN, as a country that is not part of Southeast Asia.
According to her, this requires the consent of ASEAN member states, and Singapore is one of the most important.
She mentioned that, upon her return from Singapore, she will talk to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic about restarting the procedure, because it is strategically extremely important for us.
The Prime Minister also stated that she hopes for a visit of high-ranking government officials of Singapore to Belgrade.
Brnabic recalled that she had a good meeting a month ago with Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong in Tokyo, and that the series of good talks continued now in Singapore, primarily on economic topics, adding that Serbia also has an honorary consul in Singapore, Kelvin Cheng Ern Lee.
