Minister of Education Branko Ruzic and British Council Country Director for Serbia and the Western Balkans Peter Brown signed today the Memorandum of Understanding, which confirms once more cooperation on improvement of education in Serbia.
Ruzic underlined that excellent results were achieved through education programme “Schools for 21st century“, which was implemented for five years in cooperation with the British Council.
He specified that all state primary schools in Serbia are included in the programme, and the focus is on the development of critical thinking skills, problem solving and programming with micro:bit devices, which are needed for the professions of the future and competitiveness on the labour market.
The Minister added that the relevant ministry had seen from the very beginning the importance of this programme not only in Serbia, but in the Western Balkans too, because one of the main focuses is the development of skills necessary for the 21st century among pupils through trainings that included their teachers and school principals in the country and the region.
