First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic expressed his gratitude today to Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo and Metohija Michael Davenport for the support of that mission in protecting the rights of the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija.

During the meeting, Dacic expressed his expectation that the Mission will continue to work in a status-neutral manner, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
Both parties expressed concern regarding the upcoming local elections in Kosovo and Metohija, since the expected non-participation of Serbian voters in these elections calls into question the legitimacy and legality of the elections themselves.
They expressed mutual expectation that the Community of Serb Municipalities will be formed as soon as possible, which was highlighted as a priority in resolving other open issues.
