First Deputy Prime and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali met today with Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Serbia Yakup Berish.
The officials discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the organisation of the upcoming Expo exhibition, the Green Agenda, the development of the capital market and the deepening of support for the implementation of all other reforms necessary for Serbia’s full membership in the European Union.
Mali presented Serbia’s economic successes to date that led to obtaining an investment-grade credit rating, on which Berish congratulated him.
He reiterated that Serbia is resolutely implementing all reforms, and that, in parallel, preparations for the organisation of Expo 2027 are in full swing.
The formalities are over, the Expo flag has arrived in Belgrade, but there is still a great deal of paperwork, construction and organisational work ahead, he said.
Berish said that Serbia can count on the UNDP’s support, both in the areas of further development of the capital market, and in helping to organise volunteers for the Expo exhibition.
