Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dačić attended today the launch of the electronic gate (e-gate) system at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, which will reduce the time required for passport control to a maximum of 12 to 15 seconds.

For now, the system will be available to Serbian passport holders aged 18 and over who use a passport for border crossing, with the tendency to expand the service to holders of foreign passports in the coming period.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that passengers first scan their biometric passports at the initial gate, and at the second gate, the system checks for any issues, which all takes between 12 and 15 seconds.
