At the Financial Instruments to Support Internationalisation panel, held as part of the Serbia-Italy Business Forum, Mali emphasised that Serbia’s public finances are in the best shape to date and that the prospects for growth and development are exceptionally good.
He recalled that the growth rate was projected at 3.8% in 2024, whereas Serbia is targeting a 4.2% expansion in 2025, with public debt as a share of GDP currently at only 44.1%.
Serbia is a record holder in attracting foreign direct investment, which amounted to almost €5.2 billion last year, said Mali, expressing hope that Italian businesspeople will also direct their business plans towards Serbia in the coming period.
He pointed out that Serbia will host the world’s largest event in 2027, adding that the Serbia 2027 – Leap into the Future plan has also been defined, as part of which an additional €18 billion will be invested in six areas that will completely transform the country.
