President Aleksandar Vucic said today after a meeting with President of Slovenia Natasa Pirc Musar that the economic relations between the two countries are very good, and that foreign trade is expected to reach €2 billion this year.

In the Palace of Serbia, at a joint press conference with Pirc Musar, Vucic pointed out that Slovenia is one of the biggest investors in Serbia, and expressed his belief that more and more of our businessmen want to invest in that country.
He said that the bilateral agenda related to succession and cultural heritage was also discussed at the meeting, and expressed his belief that the two countries can make progress on these issues in the coming period as well.
Our talks about Serbia’s European path and the situation in the Western Balkans were of key importance. I presented Serbia’s view of everything that is happening in our surroundings and our desire to preserve peace, stability and the free flow of people, goods, services and capital, the President emphasised.
Vucic informed the President of Slovenia about the relations with Pristina and the necessity of de-escalation, and on that occasion he expressed his gratitude to her for wanting to hear the arguments of our country.
At the same time, he announced that Serbia will participate in the Brdo-Brioni process, which will be organised by Slovenia and Croatia in September.
According to him, what is very important is the infrastructural connection of the two countries, and Serbia has always been in favor of connecting with Ljubljana via Zagreb by high-speed rail, but in 2015 we did not find an understanding in Croatia for that, and the situation has now changed and we can establish good infrastructure links.
The President also expressed his gratitude to Pirc Musar for his support to Serbia when it comes to the European integration process of our country.
The President of Slovenia said that Slovenia will continue to support Serbia on its way to the EU.
She reiterated that the political and economic cooperation between the two countries is at a high level, that the value of trade exchange is currently two billion euros annually, and that there is room for its improvement.
When it comes to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, Pirc Musar emphasized that dialogue is the only way and that Pristina must do its part, especially when it comes to the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which was agreed upon in an agreement back in 2013.
