Members of Serbian Armed Forces sent to Slovenia to help population affected by floods

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Milos Vucevic attended today the dispatch of members of the Serbian Armed Forces to Slovenia, in order to provide assistance to the population of that country, which has been struggling with floods caused by heavy rainfall for several days.

Twenty-two members of the Serbian Armed Forces and helicopters H145 and Mi-17 were sent to Slovenia today from the military airport "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlovic" in Batajnica.

Vucevic emphasised that, at the request of President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian government, the first group of members of our army was sent to Slovenia today to help the population of that country.

Although the situation is still very difficult and critical, our soldiers are ready to be up to the task. This shows once again that Serbia is a sincere and credible partner and friend, stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.

He expressed his belief that our officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers will help the citizens of Slovenia in the best possible way and represent their unit and our country.

According to him, members of the Air Force and the 63rd Parachute Brigade were sent to Slovenia today, and tomorrow a convoy with eight tankers - four for fuel, four for water, as well as another 34 members of the Serbian Armed Forces - will depart by land.
