Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Tomislav Zigmanov signed today, on behalf of the government of Serbia, the Agreement on Serbia’s Participation in the European Union Programme “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” (CERV).
This programme provides the greatest support at the EU level, first of all, to civil society organizations, but also to local self-government units, educational, cultural and scientific institutions in the areas of the Programme.
The total budget of the CERV Programme (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme) amounts to €1.5 billion for the period from 2021 to 2027.
With the signing of the Agreement, the temporary application of this agreement entered into force, while Serbia officially became one of the countries that are equal participants in this programme. All projects approved in 2023 for users from Serbia will soon be able to officially begin implementation.
The Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue will in the following period officially submit a request to the European Commission for the appointment of the Ministry as the National Contact Point for this programme in Serbia.
Accordingly, the Ministry is planning a series of events related to the promotion of the programme itself, open calls and opportunities that the Programme offers to civil society organisations, as well as public administration bodies at all three levels of government, institutions in the fields of education, culture, science and many others potential users.
