First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali met today with members of the government of Serbia whose ministries are involved in finalizing the Reform Agenda document.
It is a document about which the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić discussed with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and the leaders of the Western Balkans at the 3rd regional summit in Kotor.
The meeting on the Reform Agenda in the context of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which was adopted by the European Commission, was attended by Minister for European Integration Tanja Miščević, Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić, as well as representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister and other ministries.
The First Deputy Prime Minister stated that this meeting is the next step after yesterday's talks and concretization of the topics opened in Kotor.
We have to be efficient, to get down to work immediately, to solve challenges and dilemmas on the fly with good communication between all institutions, Mali emphasised.
According to him, Serbia has clearly laid out its European path and shows its determination to complete the reforms, whereby it will fulfill all the deadlines agreed with the European Commission.
He said that our country will fulfill all its obligations stipulated in the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, which concern the drafting of the Reform Agenda document.
It is up to us to consider the level of realization of key reforms and the indicators of the Reform Agenda as soon as possible, as well as the ways in which we can jointly contribute to the achievement of the set goals, he said.
The idea of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans was presented last year by President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and it rests on four pillars, one of which is the Reform Agenda, which implies the acceleration of fundamental reforms.
In addition to it, there are faster integration into the EU single market, regional integration and financial assistance through the Instrument for Reforms and Growth, which will provide assistance to the region in the amount of €6 billion, of which €2 billion will be direct payments to the budget and €4 billion in loans.
