Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić met today with Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas in the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Miroslav Jenča.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the special representative of the UN General Assembly and the head of UNMIK Caroline Ziadeh, Dačić positively assessed the cooperation with the United Nations team in Serbia so far.
He also emphasised that the role of the UN Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (UNMIK) is of key importance for preserving the security of Serbs in the province, recalling a series of unilateral acts by Priština, which most grossly violate basic human rights and carry out physical and institutional violence against Serbs.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the current security and political situation in the region.
