International missions must end arbitrary arrests of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija

On the occasion of today’s arrest of four Serbs near Gnjilane for alleged war crimes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on international missions to put an end to such arbitrary arrests, whose only result is the destruction of the multi-ethnic character of Kosovo and Metohija.

This is one more flagrant example of attack on Serbs with the aim of intimidating and expelling the Serbian people from a territory where they have lived for centuries and generations.

The international community should raise its voice against the increasingly frequent ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs and arrests of Serbs, without any legal evidence and the implementation of procedures in line with the laws. The goal of such actions is exclusively the creation of an ethnically clean Kosovo and Metohija.

Priština's provisional authorities continue to implement the policy of collective punishment of the Serbian people.

The latest example of the arrest of four Serbs must set off a red alarm for international institutions, because the survival of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija is more threatened than ever before.

Restrictive measures towards Priština should be in force and, if necessary, strengthened, in order to prevent the daily torture of the Serbian people and preserve peace and stability, according to the statement.
