President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said tonight that Serbia is in a difficult legal and political situation regarding Kosovo and Metohija.
In his address to the public from the Palace of Serbia, due to the brutal attacks on the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija, Vučić said that economically we are progressing very quickly, very well, perhaps even excellently, as economic parameters and indicators say, but that there is no doubt that Kosovo and Metohija what remains our most painful and difficult point.
He pointed out that Kosovo is the most expensive word for every Serb, and at the same time the easiest word, often with an indescribable ease of irresponsibility.
Its use and abuse drove us to the point of insanity. No matter what measures I propose and no matter what we do, no one will ever be satisfied. Nobody except a small circle of rational people who want to be fair to themselves and to everyone else, understanding what the situation is in Kosovo and Metohija today, yesterday, ten or 15 years ago, Vučić pointed out.
Whatever we proposed, in the end, everyone would be against it. Not some, all of them, stated the President of Serbia and assessed that there is no solution for the Kosovo and Metohija problem that would be satisfactory for the Serbs.
He said that Serbia's future moves are divided into five areas and that our country wants us to return to everything that was achieved in the dialogue process.
The President specified the moves, which are:
- Return to the “status quo”,
- Kosovo and Metohija as an area of special social protection,
- Resistance of Serbian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija,
- Establishing a special prosecutor's office,
- Decision on the illegality of all bodies and institutions established on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija after the illegal unilateral declaration of independence and the non-existence of all their acts that have been passed or will be passed.
Vučić explained that the Return to the "Status quo ante" area includes seven necessary points for progress in the dialogue:
He also announced that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will adopt a law within 45 days that will declare the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija an area of special social protection, which will guarantee the right to financial support for the unemployed, the Serbian president said.
According to his words, Serbian institutions and temporary authorities in Kosovo and Metohija will not be abolished or closed, which will prevent Albin Kurti from achieving his main political goal – to evict and completely eliminate the institutions of Serbia and Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
Vučić announced that it has been agreed that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will adopt a law on the organization of jurisdiction of the judicial authorities of the Republic of Serbia for the area of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, which will establish a special Prosecutor's Office for the prosecution of abuses and violations of basic human rights, usurpation of property, endangering the physical integrity and dignity of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. The Prosecutor's Office will have a special task to investigate and prosecute criminal and illegal acts of employees and officials of interim institutions in Priština.
It was also agreed that the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia will adopt a decision within 45 days stating the illegality of all bodies and institutions established on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija after the illegal declaration of independence, as well as the non-existence of their acts.
Vučić announced that he will present the mentioned measures in meetings with 60 world leaders, as part of a global diplomatic campaign that will last until the end of November.
