Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić attended the “Flag 2024” demonstration of the capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces today at the Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović Military Airport in Batajnica.
In his remarks to the media, Vučić emphasised that no other area has seen greater progress than the Serbian Armed Forces over the past 10 years, noting significant investments in armament and the fact that soldiers’ salaries have nearly quadrupled.
We will continue to modernise our army, all with the aim of deterring a potential aggression against our territory, he said, noting that it is common knowledge that Serbia has no aggressive or offensive intentions.
Vučević pointed out that he is proud of the progress achieved in equipping and modernising the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as with what was presented at the “Flag 2024” capabilities display.
More than 6,000 members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Army participated in the display, with approximately 2,500 weapons and military equipment and more than 50 aircraft.
Visitors to the Batajnica airport had the opportunity to observe an air show, demonstrations of the capabilities of special forces and the Serbian Air Force and Air Defence, as well as a march-past of Serbian Armed Forces units.
The “Flag 2024” demonstration was originally scheduled for 15 September, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, but was postponed to today due to poor weather conditions.
