Prime Minister Miloš Vučević attended today the signing of a contract on the design and execution of works on the construction of a pedestrian and cycling bridge with access roads and the reconstruction of the existing tunnel with elevators to the Upper Petrovaradin Fortress.

Construction of one more bridge in Novi Sad to start in spring

The contract was signed by Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić and President of China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group LTD Zhuang Yong.
At the event, Vučević pointed out that thanks to the new bridges, Novi Sad will be a better, more beautiful and safer city, and pointed out that the Chinese company pre-financed this project, taking the strain off the state budget.
The Prime Minister added that the fourth bridge from Europe Boulevard will ease traffic and that the Fruška Gora Corridor will divert heavy vehicles from the city, noting that €38 million has been allocated for the pedestrian and cycling bridge.
Vesić recalled that in the last year and a half, three contracts for three bridges in Novi Sad have been signed, noting that the construction of the new bridge, which will begin in March or April at the latest, will last 24 months, which means that it will be completed by 2027.
