Serbia and Türkiye today signed 11 memoranda and protocols on mutual cooperation in various areas in the presence of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Palace of Serbia.
The Memorandum of Understanding on emergency and disaster management between the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dačić and AFAD Head Okay Memiş.
The documents signed today include the Memorandum of Understanding in the areas of labour, employment and social security between the Ministry for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of the Republic of Türkiye; the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia and the and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye; and the Memorandum of Understanding in the area of energy transition between the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye.
Furthermore, Decision No. 1/2024 of the Joint Committee established by the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Türkiye was signed, concerning amendments to the Free Trade Agreement by replacing Protocol II on the definition of “originating products” and methods of administrative cooperation. Also signed were the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye in the field of sports; the Memorandum of Understanding on youth between the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye; and the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of media and information between the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia and the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.
The Protocol on Cooperation was signed between the City of Belgrade (Serbia) and the Municipality of Gaziantep (Türkiye), alongside the Protocol on Cooperation between the State Archives of Serbia and the Directorate of State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and an Academic Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of History Belgrade and the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History of the Turkish Historical Society.
