Minister of European Integration Tanja Miščević met today with Minister for European Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Marie Bjerre to discuss Serbia’s progress in European integration, as well as everything that the country can do now, but also once Denmark assumes the EU’s presidency.

In her address to journalists following the talks, Miščević said that the meeting also centred on the opening of Cluster 3, as well as other clusters, but also self-assessment when it comes to Chapters 23 and 24.
Bjerre said that the European Union’s enlargement is one of the priorities in the coming period, with the assessment that Serbia shows great will to join the EU, and that it is natural that its efforts towards membership should be supported.
Serbia is part of the European continent. Therefore, it has the same values and it is natural to encourage it on the way to EU membership, the Minister stated.
She added that Serbia’s European path implies certain reforms – free media, independent judiciary and respect for all fundamental rights and values of the EU.
Now, as she assessed, there is momentum for enlargement and Serbia is being encouraged to take advantage of it. It is hoped that Serbia will take advantage of the opportunity and will be supported in every possible way, she noted.
