Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar stated today that 3,000 successful open-heart surgeries in Serbia during 2024 are a result that all of Europe is proud of, adding that the country will continue to invest in healthcare.

At the celebration of 3,000 successful surgeries at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Dedinje, Lončar said that their achievements so far are not their limit.
Director of the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Dedinje Milovan Bojić stated that 350 surgeries were also performed in Republika Srpska and emphasised that Serbia is the European record holder for the number of successfully performed heart surgeries.
