Prime Minister Miloš Vučević and Premier of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang reaffirmed today, during their meeting in Shanghai, the steel friendship of the two countries.
Vučević expressed his gratitude to the Premier of China for his hospitality and participation in the seventh China International Import Expo.
He congratulated Li Qiang on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Prime Minister recalled that during the visit to Serbia, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić defined the directions of further cooperation, whereby the relationship between the two countries was raised to a higher level.
Vučević invited Premier Li to visit Serbia next year, pointing out that the country, in addition to economic cooperation, is interested in improving cooperation in the fields of education, science and health care.
He expressed gratitude to Chinese friends for their principled stance towards the issue of Kosovo and Metohija and for voting against the resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly.
Premier Li accepted the invitation to visit Serbia and at the same time invited Prime Minister Vučević to an official visit to China, emphasising that the two countries have entered a new chapter in bilateral relations, which have been raised to a higher level by “building a community with a shared future”.
The Premier of China expressed hope that Chinese businesspeople will leverage the advantages of the Free Trade Agreement and the import of Serbian products.
