Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić spoke today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Benin Olushegun Adjadi Bakari about improving relations between the two countries and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Đurić expressed his belief that the visit of his counterpart from Benin, the first after almost four decades, will be an introduction to the intensification of political dialogue, but also that it will open the door to the development of overall cooperation between the two countries.
According to him, Serbia strives to expand the network of cooperation and friendship, while a special space for intensifying economic cooperation with Benin exists in the fields of agriculture, trade and information and communication technology.
After the meeting, the ministers signed memoranda of understanding between the ministries of foreign affairs of Serbia and Benin on political and diplomatic consultations, as well as on the training of diplomatic personnel.
