Vučević stated that Valjevo is no longer traffic-isolated and pointed out that this expressway is in an important place because it connects Valjevo and that part of the country with Corridor 11, i.e. the Miloš Veliki highway.
The road is designed for a speed of up to 100 kilometres per hour, and connects not only Valjevo with the Miloš Veliki highway, but also parts of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina with Corridor 10, which enables connections with Greece and Bulgaria.
On the expressway Iverak (Valjevo) - Lajkovac there is a connection to the southern ring road around Valjevo, which enables a connection with the industrial zone in that city and contributes to better connectivity, but also to easier transportation of products.
The importance of the road is reflected in the direct connection of Valjevo with the network of highways and expressways of Serbia, safer driving and increased attractiveness of the city when it comes to new investors.
Also, the city of Valjevo will be only an hour away from Belgrade via this road.
There are a total of 20 buildings (bridges, overpasses) on the expressway, and the total length of the bridges on the route is 5,250 metres.
The opening was also attended by Minister of Public Investment Darko Glišić, Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, as well as representatives of the Chinese contractor.
