With this Agreement, the bank has officially become the first financial institution to take part in the programme.
Mali noted that such agreements have also been sent to all other commercial banks operating in Serbia, giving them a 30-day deadline to decide on their participation.
The down payment is set at 1%, the maximum loan amount is €100,000, and the loans are available to all young people aged 20 to 35 who are citizens of the Republic of Serbia and reside in Serbia.
The guarantee scheme is expected to cover around 5,500 apartments, Mali said, adding that if the programme proves successful, the state will expand the scheme and enable more young people to benefit.
He also recalled that the state is implementing other programmes, including subsidies of up to €20,000 for mothers to purchase their first apartment or build a house. In addition, allowances for childbirth have been increased, with the state now allocating RSD 500,000 for the first child and RSD 600,000 for the second.
