Opening a workshop on the global perspective of the energy sector at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, organised by the National Energy Committee of Serbia - WPC Energy, Đedović Handanović underlined Serbia’s commitment to investing in all strategically significant energy projects.
She pointed out that work is under way on updating the Starting Points for the Energy Infrastructure Development Plan, a document the government adopted two years ago, estimating the necessary investments in the next 10 years at approximately €14 billion.
The Minister emphasised that the diversification of natural gas and oil supply sources and routes is of great importance for Serbia, noting that this year, the country is launching construction on a new oil pipeline that will connect Serbia and Hungary, as well as link Serbia with the Druzhba oil pipeline.
Serbia continues to enhance its regional connectivity in natural gas transport. Over the next three years, two additional gas pipelines will be constructed to connect the country with North Macedonia and Romania. These projects build on existing infrastructure, including the Balkan Stream gas pipeline and the Serbia-Bulgaria interconnector, which will link Serbia to the TANAP pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor, she said.
