Serbia ready for improvement of cooperation with Russia

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated today that economic cooperation with the Russian Federation must be much better next year and that he expects the boosting of trade.

In an interview with the portal "Sputnik", Vucic pointed to the possibilities for intensifying cooperation between the two countries in all fields of social life.
The possibilities exist in the sphere of industry, agriculture, culture and military cooperation, in which the issue of the overhaul of Russian helicopters is being discussed, which will be of enormous economic significance for Serbia.
There is indeed a large space for cooperation, the Prime Minister reiterated and recalled that Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin is expected to arrive in Serbia in early January.
In addition, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled to visit Belgrade in April 2016, which will be a great stimulus for further cooperation and improvement of relations between the two countries.
Vucic underlined that Russian Railways (RZD) did not have delays of even a single day on the works of construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of Serbian railroads and expressed gratitude to Director of the company Oleg Belozerov on efficiency.
He voiced hope that an agreement will be signed with Russian Railways next year on long-term maintenance of Serbian railroads.
Three lanes are being reconstructed in cooperation with the Russian side and these are Cuprija–Paracin, Mala Krsna–Palanka and Sopot Kosmajski–Kovacevac, and there are plans to make two more sections towards the border with the Republic of Macedonia.
