Stefanovic recalled that the Czech Republic during the 2015 migrant crisis helped the Serbian Interior Ministry with almost €900,000, which were used to strengthen the capacity of our border police.
The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out that the cooperation between the Serbian and Czech police in the field of fighting organised crime is good and that there is a constant intensive exchange of information between the professionals of the two police.
Our goal is that there be no criminal who can find shelter in any of our two countries, Stefanovic explained, giving as an example of good cooperation the arrest of Caba Der in Prague, for whom Serbia had issued an Interpol arrest warrant.
Stefanovic once again expressed his gratitude to the Czech police for fast action and arrest of Der in a relatively short time, with the assessment that such co-operation and actions have led to a fall in the crime rate.
The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the police of Serbia and the Czech Republic continue to cooperate through joint investigation teams and in other cases related to organised crime.
Hamacek stressed that the relations between Serbia and the Czech Republic are traditionally good, and expressed particular gratitude for the support that the Serbian people had given in difficult times in history to the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia.
According to him, the Czech Republic is ready to increase the contingent of police officers in order to make the above-mentioned border area even more protected.
