President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis signed a joint declaration in Athens today on establishing a strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Declaration implies a number of common positions on the most important issues, mutual support on the most important issues for both countries, and a whole set of other general political positions regarding the friendly and strategic relations of the two countries.
Vucic, opening the session of the High Cooperation Council of Serbia and Greece, before the signing of the document, said that the Declaration is very important, pointing out that Greece is only the third country in Europe with which Serbia signs such a document.
The President added that it was important for the Declaration to include economic cooperation as well as security cooperation, as well as scientific and educational cooperation.
In addition to the Declaration, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Serbian Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic signed a program of cooperation between the two governments in the field of education, science and technological development for the period 2020-2022.
