The government announced that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Paris submitted a letter of candidacy for the host of the International Specialised Exhibition in Belgrade – EXPO 2027, signed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
It is proposed that the Specialised Exhibition EXPO BELGRADE 2027 themed "Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All" is held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
Holding international exhibitions, such as EXPO 2027, is a unique opportunity to promote all the economic, tourist and cultural potentials of the host country. The Republic of Serbia and Belgrade have proven that they have the ability, organisational, professional and human capacities to organise the biggest international events, and organising such a large and important event in our capital means relying on all the potentials that the Republic of Serbia has.
If we get the organisation, the experience that our country has as a participant in exhibitions of this type in the past will be important, and the last one is the Dubai EXPO, where Serbia achieved remarkable promotion and visibility.
By organising the Internationally Recognized Exhibition EXPO BELGRADE 2027, the Republic of Serbia would clearly position itself as the economic, cultural, but also political centre of this part of Europe.
Apart from Serbia, the candidacy was submitted by the state of Minnesota, USA and Phuket, Thailand.
The previous specialised EXPO was held in Astana in 2017, and the next one planned for 2023 will be held in Buenos Aires.
