Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic signed several agreements today with Gabonese Republic Michael Mousa Adamo with the aim of improving cooperation between the two countries, whose relations are traditionally friendly.
The ministers signed the Protocol on the continuation of the validity of bilateral agreements concluded with the SFRY between the government of the Republic of Serbia and the government of the Republic of Gabon, the Agreement between the government of the Republic of Serbia and the government of the Republic of Gabon on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports, the Agreement on cooperation between the government of the Republic of Serbia and the government of the Republic of Gabon in the field of science, technology, education and culture and the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of agriculture.
At the joint press conference with Mousa Adamo, Selakovic assessed that these were extremely important agreements, adding that today's meeting was an opportunity to continue the talks started during his visit to Gabon in February this year and to intensify cooperation in many areas, such as are agriculture, tourism, modern technologies, construction, health, defence, pharmacy, education, culture and art.
Serbia and Gabon share very close views on the necessity of respecting international law and preserving equality, peace and stability in the world, the minister pointed out.
He expressed Serbia's determination to continue the political dialogue and improve the overall cooperation between the two friendly countries.
Mousa Adamo expressed his great satisfaction with his visit to Belgrade and stated that Serbia has always been a friendly country and that Gabon has special historical ties with our country.
Today, Gabon is working on diversifying the economy because oil does more harm than good to the country, so we are trying to diversify it by creating added value, and all partners who can help us are welcome to make Gabon an example of success, said the head of Gabonese diplomacy.
